Ayyub Abdul-Alim is a community member, business owner, and father in Springfield, MA who was targeted by the FBI to work as an informant. Ayyub was arrested on a fabricated weapons charge by the Springfield Police Department in collaboration with the FBI in December of 2011. The FBI offered Ayyub exoneration of the charges – only if he agreed to become an informant to spy on the Muslim community. Ayyub refused, and is currently facing the possibility of 15 years in prison. He has been held at Hampden County Correctional Facility for 2 years awaiting his trial.
